Silver Award Project- Save the Bees

Girl Scout Cadette Sarah Y., Troop 58010, earned her Silver Award by educating her community about the local, endangered Rusty Patched Bumble Bee. Sarah held a booth at her local farmers market leading bee-related crafts and helping people plant seeds to grow a variety of native flowering plants that the Rusty Patched Bumble Bee loves. By increasing awareness of this bee and creating additional habitat through planting the bees’ preferred plants, Sarah and the community improved this little bee’s chances of survival. Way to go, Sarah!
