Bee Kind to Our Pollinators

About this project

Greta E. earned her Gold Award by focusing efforts on pollinator-based education.  She created a Google Docs folder filled with educational and informational files, craft instructions, and more:

Greta partnered with a local community garden and non-profit organization to lead an interactive presentation including the introduction of several new pollinator-friendly versus of a Girl Scout favorite “Boom Chicka Boom!”  These lyrics are also available in the Google Docs folder.

Additionally, Greta built three sturdy wooden raised garden beds of various heights so that people can enjoy gardening in a standing or sitting position – perfect for those who use a walker or wheelchair.  People with mobility or bending/squatting challenges can now plant pollinator-friendly plants in these beds.  Greta even created instructions to help others make similar beds for their own yards.  The instructions are also contained in the Google Docs drive.

Way to go, Greta!  Your project has made a sustainable difference in our community!
