Girl Scouts fits EVERY budget!
Membership Fee: As of 2024, an annual membership is $25. This is paid directly to Girl Scouts at the national level. The money does not come to the troop. Financial aid is available!
Uniforms: Each level of Girl Scouts has a signature uniform. This is usually a vest or sash that displays various regalia including the troop number. Girls place their earned badges and fun patches on the vest or sash. In addition to showcasing her achievements, a uniform helps girls feel like part of the team that they are. You can contact the Girl Scout Shop for more information and pricing. Financial aid is available!
Dues: Some, but not all, troops ask members to pay dues to assist with programming costs, supplies, and the expenses of running a troop. This is most common in a troop’s first year as they are getting started before having had a chance to raise money through product sales. In some circumstances, financial aid may be available.
Events: Girl Scouts River Valleys and various Service Units offer events every year, including badge-earning events and overnight camps. Each event has a fee, but financial aid is available.
Badges/Patches: Throughout the year, girls will earn badges or fun patches. Although individual girls may purchase these on their own, most troops cover the costs of badges and patches with money earned through product sales.
Financial Aid: Girl Scouts fits EVERY budget! Girl Scouts River Valleys, the council that serves our area, makes financial aid available for the annual membership fee, uniform cost, official Girl Scout events, and, in some cases, troop dues.
